Adding a Car Nitrous

ZEX Nitrous System Kit (Honda Civic Hybrid 2003-2007) - $ 637.45

Retail Price: 797.99
You Save: $160.54

Majority of the people confuse the "brand name" "NOS" with the gas used to boost up the car's speed or accelerate it for some moment which is known as dinitrous mono oxide or simply N2O.In recent years it has gained a lot of popularity for car racers or other enthusiasts which give them a slight edge from others in respect of speed and acceleration. Thanks to "Need For Speed"(computer game) and "Fast And The Furious"(movie) where this gas has been glamourized and created many customers for it.However you will be amazed to know that the same gas is used in "medical department" as an anaesthesia!!!Amazing!! isn't it??But the medical version of the gas is much more acceptable (if you dont get dizzy after having a dose of it :-) ) as car grade nitros have hydrogen sulphide added into them which makes them a nasty gas to inhale as they can cause lung tissues rupture. So observe high caution.

N20 were initially used in aircrafts to boost up the aircrafts's engines which eventually car racers felt fit for their "dragging and drifting"purpose and became prominent among them.Another misconception about "NOS" among the amature is that it works on the phenomenon of rocket fuel where the rocket fuel creates a thrust and propells the rocket upwards, but this is not the case with "NOS".The effective thing about this gas is its rapid change of form from solid to gas which makes it very likely to quickly absorb lot of heat and giving a cooling effect and creates favourable environment for more oxygen intake and thus more efficient working of the engine. If you are not aware of this phenomenon then read the article purpose of induction kits. Thus "NOS" acts as our body sweat where your body heat is transferred in form of your sweat vapors thus cooling your body. But mark me!!! This is only the side benefit of "NOS".

ZEX Polished Nitrous System Kit (Honda Civic Hybrid 2003-2007) - $ 706.51

Retail Price: 883.99
You Save: $177.48

The main benefit of this gas is its chemical formula "N2O".When N2o is combusted it breaks down into its costituents thus releasing oxygen in the engine which helps in burning of more fuel and generates more power to the engine.10lb of N20 will be able to drag you to7-10 miles. However adding a pair of "NOS" cylinders in your car trunk and converting it into operational condition does not turn you into a pro-racer.You ought to know the manual operation of it i.e when to press the "NOS" button or what are the conditions favouring it??

The main problem of "NOS" is that it does not do the trick all alone. You have to supply ample amount of fuel to burn to achieve the desired result and obviously not all the engines will be able to endure this so your engine, like you has to be a "tough guy" .Including this you have to be conscious when to press the "NOS" button. The right time to press the button which is recommended by the experts is at minimum 2500 rpm. Moreover be careful of the loss of traction which is obvious at sudden acceleration or your "N2O" will prove itself to be even more expensive!!!And at last!! Do not press the NOS button while you start your engine or you will hear some series of small or one big explosion trying to express that "your engine is no longer going to serve you".

Purpose Of Induction Kits.

Cold Air Intake Kit (2001-2002 Honda Civic Hybrid)

Before understanding the purpose of induction kits it would be necessary to know about the working and reason behind the presence of air filter in the car.Your car, for movement require fuel of course but the mere presence of fuel does not do the trick alone as many other ingredients are necessary to move your car which includes besides fuel, air and some sparks.Thats right now understanding the phenomenon of moving the car is that your car intakes air containing oxygen, pushes that air into the piston area of the engine and then theres a drizzle of fuel droplets which is combusted with the spark created by the car spark plugs. When fuel droplets come in the contact of a flare caused by the battery and in the presence of oxygen it causes explosion which causes the piston to move and eventually the whole car(imagine hundreds of these explosions happening per second).

Now keeping in mind the above phenomenon and the pre-requisites to move a car we can guess that without the presence of air/oxygen it would be difficult to move a conventional car and more the quality of the air i.e the more the oxygen in the air the better will be the performance of the car. This is what air filters do they intake oxygen and send it to the piston part of the engine. So if a car has an air filter with larger diameter the air filter will be able to intake more oxygen. So it is advised to keep your air filter clean in order to increase your horse power.

Now coming to the purpose of the induction kits. The idea behind introducing induction kit instead of air filter and air box is that induction kit intakes more cool air than these two without any extra effort thus allowing more oxygen because cool air contains more oxygen than warm air. This does not mean that air filter and air box are not fit for their purpose but as the time passes they become full of dust and therefore less efficient.

A normal induction kit has a cone shaped filter and necessary brackets and pipework to fit into the specific car.Good quality induction kits last for a longer time than the air filters because they can be easily washed, oiled and cleaned thus enhancing their life span. One more change which is eventually brought by the introduction of induction kit is that it makes a roaring sound thus giving car a more sporty image. So i reckon if you are a car enthusiast and looking forward to modify your car you should try these kits.Specific induction kits are available in the market for many of their respective cars but problem occurs when the model of your car is not listed so in this case you will have to buy universal kits which can fit into numbers of other vehicles after some alteration in the brackets and pipeworks.

How To Apply Car Stickers

First things first. Not all the stickers are same so make sure that you read the instructions available with themjust in case if they need any special care.Small stickers are easy to apply than large stickers and they prove to bemore flexible when warm so if you happen to be in a warm country then you dont have to worry a bit about applying stickers to your car. However if the weather is relatively cold in your country then dont panic just warm the
stickers and panel where the sticker will be applied by any means possible but make sure not to damage your car
paint or sticker.Smearing the sticker and the panel with a hair dryer for some time can be a good idea.
However before you apply the sticker make sure that you clean the panel first with distilled water and then with car paint cleaner. If the car paint has faded in the sun then use an alcohol cleaner to through cleanse the panel.

Removal is far too easy than applying but many times removing stickers also causes the paint to rip off.So always
warm the sticker with hair dryer so it is removed without any harm to the car paint.

As we are talking about applying and removing car stickers it would be useful to discuss its types too.
Normally 2 kinds of stickers can be found 1)Vinyl print where a single sticker constitutes the whole picture or
print and can be applied in a single layer. 2)Cut vinyl where shapes of colored vinyl are cut and are integrated from different vinyls to form one design.

In the end,you can have custom created stickers of your own preferred in vector based EPS format. But having a professional hired for this job really pays in the end.Sticker defines the attitude of the car and the driver so it
requires special finish to achieve what you want to achieve by applying those stickers so don't rush be patient and
get a professional hired for your self.

How to Avoid Creating An Ugly Car Mod.

1.Always start your project(modification) with the visual image of your end result in your mind.

2.Decide your niche of car modification like you want to do the spoilers, paint, stickers or wings e.t.c and once decided stick to your decision and try to close the doors for any more brainstorming because the more you will think and keep on choosing the more confused you will be and it will end up no where.

3.Always buy quality kits which will ofcourse be expensive but its a famous saying in "URDU"(South Asian/Pakistani language) that "the one who buys expensive cries once but who buys cheap cries forever"so i can bet that you dont want to cry for the rest of your life so always go for good quality products.

4.To make sure that the kits bought are reliable, buy them from known manufactures. The reason behind this is that well known manufactures in order to enhance their goodwill further, give away warranties with their products so you may feel relaxed to a great extent in case of a defective kit.

5.Once you put your feet into the water dive completely in it.Any half hearted or incomplete attempt will defenitely end up in an ugly car mod.

6.Most important, keep in mind the nature and design of your car.Attach parts which resembles and are much more aligned towards your car tempo.Car modification is not the name of just keep on ading modification parts regardless of your car genuine style.Any mistake committed like this will make your car look an "impostor".

Many guidelines can be laid down in order to avoid an ugly car mod but i feel the above mentioned guidlines are sufficient. However a tip in the end would be helpful.I dont know who said these but these are the great words that "make your job your hobby so you wont have to work even for a single day". Thats right if you are in these car mod activity just love your job and be passionate about it and you will definitely create a lovely rather than an ugly car mod.

How To Remove Minor Dents From Your Car Body.

One of the most annoying and frustrating things is that you find a dent on your new shiny car when you return from somewhere.Once you got a dent or a scratch on your car there can be a lot of problems dealing with the body repair shop. However this article can help you to a great deal in removing dents from your beloved rides.

Removing Dents From Doors.

The conventional technique used to remove dents by specialists is that they use tools from the back of the panel to push out the dent so that the dent is popped up and ultimately disappears.Alternatively an M shaped device known as a dent puller which is with a screw handle can also be used.Using specialist heat glue you can stick the central stem to the dent. When it is set you undo the screw and the dent will pop out.At the end use a glue remover and just polish off the panel.

Paintless Dent Removal:At many times the dent is removed at the cost of the car paint and some people find it very hard to remove the dent without harming the paint. However paintless dent removing is much much cheaper than using a body shop and should be your first priority if you have to deal with a minor panel dent.
Removing dents is entirely possible to do without replacing a panel or needing paint. Our tips could result in saving you some precious bucks save which you have wasted on bodyshops.

In case of smaller or minor dents, paintless car dent repair is used.In this process specialized tools are used in order to remove these minor dents and it all starts from the outer edges of the panel. One has to be very conscious about the paint because the paint is not supposed to be scratched otherwise it will have double impact on the car owner.Firstly it will reduce the market value of the car as the car is no longer in its original position(regarding paint).Secondly it will enhance the cost to restore the car paint of that portion.

A"chemical" method of dent removal involves the use of a hot air blower.Hair drier can well be used for this purpose. Heat up the dent containing panel as much as possible and then quickly spray on CO2 on the hot panel. The sudden temperature change will cause the panel to come back to its original shape. This will not damage the car paint but this process is not considered to be reliable as such and will either work well or not at all so you will not risk damaging the panel.CO2 can be obtained from a fire extinguisher which contains CO2 and can be used for dent removing purpose.

PRECAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE liquid CO2 or Nozzle of the sprayer.

Wheel Arch Dents:
Dents on these parts are considered to be more challenging to fix as the curvature of the panel often causes the paint to crack. So sequentially fixing the paint should be your first priority.A tool called touch up pen is used for this purpose it can also be used to avoid the car body to rust.
Next remove the inner wing lining and with the mentioned tools move the dent. If you are lucky the panel will ping back into shape and will require no or minimum beating and shaping. A block of wood and a clamp will allow you to put pressure on a wide area.Correct and Careful placement of the clamp ensures that the dent come to its normal shape straight away. The part of the hammer which contacts with the car body should be covered with a rubber as this will avoid scratching the back of the panel and causing rust.Make sure not to use anything with a sharp edge as this could prove to be even worse by scratching the paint or cause some additional dents.Panels with the right colour can be found from any breakers yard and replacing old wing with the new one can be simply done by just removing the front bumper and unscrewing the old wing and thats it.

In the end,if everything explained above fails you will require a body shop services.
A dent in the wing will usually mean that the wheel has been hit also, it is a good idea to get the bearings and wheel alignment checked or you could be paying out for new tires more frequently that you need to.

Modify Your Head Hights.

Obviously the most distinctive part of your ride are your headlights which in a way define the whole nature of your car. Many people instead of spending on their lights spend on the other accessories and are very much contended with the boring looks of their headlights.

If you are seeking the headlight mods you must just as well follow the theme along and fit matching or complimentary tail lights.
When you have located a suitable headlight conversion kit change the indicator repeaters as well, best matching your car headlights. However make sure that the headlight conversion kit and bulbs you buy are approved for street legal use.
Nowadays Lexus style lights which utilise clear lenses and coloured bulbs and angel eyes which were popularised by BMW are highly in. For the main beam different lenses are used by different headlights, dipped and fog light.
Changing a tri or quad lamp unit which change the whole look of the car providing 3 or 4 circular lenses for each beam function in a clear, silver black or even carbon fibre surround would be a very good idea to initiate your head light mod.
The classic circular "jaguar style" headlight conversions are certainly in at the moment. They look even more hot when contrasted with a black headlight
surround or even a body colour coded surround. Conversion kits available now a days allow you to customize the colour code your headlights surround so that they dont look odd to the whole body and color scheme of your car and they are fitted with easily removable front glass for easy access.

As mentioned above the Lexus style clear or crystal lenses are in because they look great but be careful when choosing the coloured bulb it has been observed in many cases that the coloured bulbs spoil the whole effect. fortunately coloured bulbs are now available with a silvered finishing so the bulb does not show through at all through the lens unless it is turned on.

Angel Eyes, Quad, HID, Bulb upgrades, coloured bulbs the list is never lasting especially in this era of tough competition when there is a steady supply of new innovations and new products keep on coming.

HID - due to the frequency of the light from some angles colour appears blue.Kits are available in the market for most cars converting them to HID bulbs. The biggest advantage of HID lights are that they reduce the strain on your eyes and allows you to see even further by emitting a light of frequency identical to the frequency of daylight which is more bright and clear With some imagination and a little body styling you can create a totally unique look.Only your creativity is the limit.

Light emitting diodes(abbreviation=LED) are a new form of bulb. They've got couple of big advantages.First their lives are too long as compared to any other standard bulb i.e 5000 hours(approx) secondly they consume less power and emit less or to be more precise zero heat compared with conventional bulbs.

Markets are being stocked up by the new innovations of LED bulbs but yet they are not the mainstream headlight applications but as a critic i am sure that the era of this conventional headlights will soon pass away and the LED headlights will flood the market.

Modifying your car's headlights is not a big deal and can be done easily as replacing headlights is an easy task however there might be some cars where you will have to remove your bumpers in order to install new headlights so i highly recommend that you consult your car manual when you deal with such type of complex cars.

Whenever playing with the electricity or other electric devices of your car you should always disconnect the battery in accordance with your makers instructions also make sure that you take care to note your radio code, alarm settings and any other electronic device integrated in your car that may be affected by a loss of power.

In the end, whenever you buy a new headlight conversion kit make sure that it doesnt violates the rules of your country because many countries have strict rules regarding tinted headlights or coloured bulbs.

How to Boost Your Car's Horsepower

Car enthusiasts are often more eager to improve gas mileage and keep maintenance costs low than to maximize performance hence choosing for the economy which
is quite natural. That means most cars are born with the equivalent of a stuffy nose. Below are the ways to increase horsepower.

1. Upgrade to a free-flow aftermarket air filter.
* Buy a free-flow air filter that best fits your car.
* Open hood. Locate the air filter housing. which is the long pipe connecting the engine to a
square plastic box.
* Remove housing. You must ake sure that no dust enters into the filter housing.
* Remove the old filter but make sure that you remember that how it was fitted because you
will have to fit a new one.
* Take a slightly moist cloth and clean the inside of the box.
* Insert the new filter.
* Close housing box and thats it you are done.

2. Upgrade your engine's computer with a power module.
* Disconnect negative battery cable.
* Locate the car's computer. If unable to access car's computer seek guidance from your car
manual.
* Kill the computer's power by unplugging it.
* Plug in an after-market power module. Insert it between the wiring harness and the computer.
* Reconnect negative battery cable.
* Follow the module's instructions for starting car.
* Refill your car up with fuel and race with up to 30 extra ponies.

3. Upgrade your car's computer with a programmer.
* Programming devices modify or in other words upgrade the programming on your vehicle's
computer, allowing more horsepower, torque, and sometimes better fuel economy.
* After you purchase such device for your vehicle, read the instructions manual to install it.Each
programmers has its own way to install and work,so reading the manual is the only safe and
good option.

4. Upgrade to a free flowing exhaust
* First, determine the exhaust piping diameter of your exhaust.I repeat it measure the
diameter of the exhaust I repeat it measure the diameter of exhaust piping do not just
measure the diameter of your exhaust tip. Measure the pipe that comes out of your catalytic
converter,as its usually the smallest.
* Search online or in a store for a performance exhaust system for your car. Some online videos
on youtube or other sites may make your car sound appealing
* You'll have to find a "cat back" system. which run from catalytic converter to the end of the
exhaust piping.
* Go for a system that is 1/4 to 1/2 inches LARGER than the one your car came with from the
factory.More larger system may require dramatic modification to the engine.
* TOO free flowing exhaust can have a negative impact on low end torque, so you'll probably
want 1/4 inch for a 4 cylinder, 3/8 for a six and 1/2 for a v8.
* Cut the old system out yourself, and cut it just after the catalytic converter and leave an inch or
two to clamp or weld onto.Detach the rest of the exhaust system from the hangars.
* Position the new system in place (assuming you've assembled it) and weld or clamp it to the
spot you just cut. Reinstall the hangers that you removed.
* Start the car and feel the energy of a good 10-15 hp increase.
